With English language is absolutely no problem at all. During some events, for example "Quadrathlon" (in Moers) we use to communicate with all the guests from Sweden and/or Holland normally in English. No problem. And if somebody needs help, we communicate with all our fingers.

Be prepared getting a big bunch of answers more or less matching your question.
It will be much harder for you to filter out what you really need than learning german.
But, in the end we all just want race little cars on a slotcar track.
